A Bright Side to Incontinence?

This incontinence-thing has kept me occupied more than I ever imagined. One night, I found myself soaking wet. "This can't be happening," I thought. I decided to return to the incontinence aisle at my local market and grabbed pads that boasted 4 drops.

I used them with Knix leak-proof panties. Thankfully, I never experienced another night like that. In addition, I had also been transitioning myself away from coffee for the better part of a year. I had been "mixing" my instant espresso with an instant grain-type beverage, the taste was pleasant, but hardly robust. Then somehow, I remembered a Korean place in Vegas that had matcha (Japanese tea)

soft-serve ice cream.

I loved the taste of it and loved its dense green color. Later, I returned to find that they no longer had the matcha flavored soft serve. My taste buds wanted matcha, and it hung heavy on my mind. I called Herbally Grounded, a store here in Las Vegas that has an impressive bulk section of leaf and powdered herbs to see if they carried matcha green tea. They did. I was willing to try an ounce or two. Their certified organic matcha was pricey, but I knew it would help me.

I also got powdered ginger and used both of them to make a hot drink

that I topped off with heated nutpods coconut & almond creamer (or half & half). The taste of the matcha and ginger are strong and a bit bitter. So I added raw honey and/or brown sugar Splenda, which turned it into a magnificent, soothing, robust beverage that now has become my robust morning and bedtime drink.

Curiously, within a day or two after starting this new ritual, I completely forgot that I had this incontinence thing going on. I no longer had the urgent urgency that happened once or twice a day--and without accident. It has now been 18 days since I started drinking matcha and I've only experienced a single episode of urinary urgency as opposed to over 30 of them. My body is much calmer.

The most important thing I also do is listen to the small subtle signals my body urges at me every couple of hours and I make sure I act on those urges, not do something else. Those signals are my priority to listen to and take care of before anything else. So I don't do "something else" and my body is so much happier.

Could this help you? The only way to know is to try it out and see what you see.

HOT MATCHA TEA

Add 2-3 Tbsp hot water into glass or mug, then add

1-1/2+ teaspoon matcha powder

(by itself or with 1/2 tsp powdered ginger)

1-1/2+ tsp sweetener, raw honey or both. Stir thoroughly.

Heat 8 oz nutpods original almond+coconut creamer (original)

Pour into glass or mug and stir like crazy. A foamer tool works well too. Then, voila! This is a beverage with robust taste and benefits far beyond a daily perk-up.
